Sustainable & Simple

As our production is geared to produce garments in the shortest time possible, there is simply no need to hold a large excess stock, we produce according to orders!

Another aspect of sustainability is our hire option. We hire out exquisite garments, allowing dancers to perform in different costumes, giving a personal and distinguished look.
This hire service is available for tail suits for adults and dresses for adult and junior dancers.

An indirect aspect of sustainability is our commitment to local and in house production. We are proud to maintain a considerable work force securing employment and positions within our local community. We care passionately for each and every valued employee and to safeguard as many positions as we can beyond the current COVID 19 crisis is our expressive goal and company policy. We wish to re- emerge with our production ability still intact.

Another angle of our commitment to sustainability is utilising all unavoidable offcuts for sample production. The scale of sample production is widely underestimated in time and also fabric consumption use, but how else could interested costumers make a final purchase decision? We try our best and normally succeed in producing all our samples from fabric offcuts.

Our experienced cutters lay the patterns to utilise every cm of fabric making sure there is little or no wastage andwe leave the fabric on the roll for optimum use. We also keep every piece of our laces for use in production.
Patterns are created and adjusted to maximise fabric use.

DSI TV is also contributing to our environmental efforts as we hold a library of he equivalent of tens of thousands of DVDs over the cloud, so it is not always necessary  to purchase a DVD.

Every new fabric or dress accessory is subjected to a stringent quality test to ensure its suitability and the durability. We will only purchase high quality products fit for long term use! A testament to our solid workmanship, we are often surprised to see DSI dresses and tail suits still on the dance floor long after original production, "performing" proof of their longevity. Whenever possible we inspect every supplier personally or make every reasonable effort to ensure our suppliesr adhere to ethical work standards and overall good practise. Sourcing near exclusively from Europe and Japan safeguards these considerations. 

Did you know, that until fairly recently all glues and adhesives used for rhinestone application were classified as hazardous and came with a health warning? We at DSI London have developed a risk free and environmental friendly glue, branded DSI glue, which is safe to use and ensures the crystals stay well attached on every performance garment.
