The late Dmitriy Petridis & Sydney Francis were the innovators of the All England Latin American Championships.
This title was the first Latin American Title granted by the then “Official Board of Ballroom Dancing” and now named the “British Dance Council” in 1945. In later years they were joined by Dmitri’s wife the late Nina Hunt.
Michael Stylianos & Lorna Lee-Stylianos inherited the titles in 1996 and promised to up-hold their prestige. It was Sydney & Nina’s wish that these Championships be kept as a special Latin American Event using the traditional open marking system with no other supporting events on the same evening.
