LADIES COUTURE

To initiate the process of having your dress individually designed and made in our studio in South London, contact Emma on emma@dsi-london.com or on 020 8664 8188. Emma is extremely experienced and will guide you expertly through all the production processes.

Emma will invite you to a personal consultation, ideally in our London studio or at a mutually agreed DSI exhibition location. In the first meeting, we will discuss your wishes, agree on the initial design ideas and take your measurements. The design will be sent to you within a few days for official approval. We highly recommend a second visit to us for a fitting, allowing us to tailor the dress to your exact specifications, ensuring the perfect fit. A third visit is recommended for collection of the finished couture garment.

If distance does not allow for your attendance in person, we can obtain all information using a preference and couture measurement chart. We can assist this process through Zoom, WhatsApp or FaceTime to guide you through the exact process. Mirroring the personal consultation process, a design will be produced to be approved by you and we will proceed with production based on the measurements provided by you. Depending on circumstances, we can either send the unfinished garment for fitting, which you would return to us together with your feedback or we can send the completed couture dress to you. Our expertise creates a very good fit, though in some cases, minor adjustments may be required.

We charge an initial design fee of £100 + VAT, which will be taken off the final price of the dress. Once the design has been approved, we will require a deposit of approximately 50% of the quoted price. Whilst we do our best to accommodate any reasonable budget, the prices for couture Latin dresses start from £1200 and for couture Ballroom dresses from £1800, with both prices subject to VAT, if applicable. Please allow between six and eight weeks from the date of order to completion of the garment, depending upon availability for fittings. If you require the dress in a shorter time period, please do let us know and we shall see if it can be achieved.

Staying true to our name and principles, all DSI costumes are designed, cut and produced in their entirety in our South London studio – right from the very first design sketch to placing the final rhinestone! Being under one roof allows us to respond as swiftly as possible to our customers’ wishes and ensure maximum quality control.
