Sandra's gown for the 2026 Blackpool Dance Festival achieves both, combining timeless Ballroom elegance with a dramatic presence that perfectly complements her distinctive style on the dance floor.
Reaching the Semi-Final of the Professional Ballroom Championship is an achievement in itself at one of the world's most prestigious dance festivals. Yet beyond the result, this gown represents something that lies at the very heart of DSI Fashion: creating performance couture that enhances not only how a dancer looks, but how they move, perform and express themselves.
Designed by DSI London's Creative Designer, Svetlana, and handcrafted by our Made in London couture team, this design embraces contrast in its most elegant form. Rich Emerald Shimmer Stretch creates a fluid silhouette that comes alive beneath the lights of the Empress Ballroom, while dramatic black feather floats frame every movement with theatrical presence.
Rather than competing for attention, each element works in harmony. The shimmering emerald fabric captures the light with every turn, while black twinkle underskirts add depth and movement beneath the skirt. Three-dimensional embellishment, created using pearls, jewellery stones and Preciosa SS16, SS20 and SS30 flat back stones, introduces texture and refinement, rewarding closer inspection with ever more intricate detail.
Completing the look, elegant black mesh gloves and flowing feather floats create striking visual lines that extend Sandra's movement beyond the silhouette of the gown itself, reinforcing the expressive quality that defines championship Ballroom dancing.
Like every DSI London couture creation, this gown was never designed simply to look beautiful standing still. Every decision, from the choice of fabric to the placement of embellishment, supports movement, comfort and performance, allowing the dancer to perform with complete confidence under championship conditions.

Designer's Note
For this design, Svetlana sought to balance elegance with drama. The rich Emerald Shimmer Stretch provides fluid movement and luminous depth, while the contrast of black feather floats and sculptural embellishment creates a bold yet sophisticated silhouette worthy of the Blackpool Dance Festival floor.
